The Machining NC II Qualification consists of competencies that a person must achieve to set up and operate a variety of machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
The Units of Competency comprising this qualification include the following:

A person who has achieved this qualification is competent to be:
- Machinist
- Lathe operator
- Milling machine operator
- Precision grinding machine operator
- Bench worker/fitter
