The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority – Regional Training Center Zamboanga Peninsula (TESDA RTC-ZamPen) and the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) officially entered into a collaborative partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that will support the development of a comprehensive Student Management System (SMS) for TESDA.

The MOU was formally signed by TESDA Region IX Acting Regional Director Engr. Alan T. Bacatan, CESE and AdZU President Fr. Guillrey Anthony M. Andal, SJ, with witnesses Fr. Rene C. Tacastacas, SJ, Vice President for Higher Education of AdZU, and Ms. Jocelyn C. Wee, Administrator of TESDA RTC-ZamPen. This partnership underscored the commitment of both institutions to strengthening digital innovations that enhance public service and educational efficiency.

The agreement outlines the shared vision of TESDA and AdZU to collaborate on the creation of an efficient, secure, and user-friendly digital system that will support TESDA’s student records management and improve data handling across its operations. The partnership leverages the technical expertise of AdZU’s Engineering Department whose students will undertake the system development as part of their academic requirements while enabling TESDA to adopt modernized solutions aligned with its mandate to deliver effective and efficient technical-vocational education and services. The collaboration also upholds compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (RA 10173), ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and security of all data shared and processed throughout the project.

The TESDA RTC–ZamPen expressed its sincere appreciation and gratitude to AdZU, particularly to Engr. Janet Tan, Chair of the Engineering Department of the College of Science, Information Technology and Engineering (CSITE), and Mr. Eugene Kanindot, ICT Instructor, for their invaluable support and contribution to this project.
