The TESDA Regional Training Center-Zamboanga Alumni Association recently hosted its inaugural TESDA Alumni Products and Services Exposition from September 28 to 30, 2023 and culminating it with the first-ever Grand Alumni Homecoming on September 30.
The festivities started with the trade fair dubbed “Exposicion de Producto y Servicio,” which was inaugurated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, officiated by Ms. Jocelyn C. Wee, RTC Administrator, and key representatives from the alumni association. The exposition showcased eight distinctive booths featuring products and services offered by TESDA alumni who have successfully ventured into business.
The booths drew a significant crowd, attracting not only TESDA employees and scholars but also visitors from neighboring government institutions and schools.
On September 30, a motorcade kicked off the Grand Alumni Homecoming with the theme: “Rememorar, Revivir, and Reconectar,”, bringing together RTC alumni from various qualifications. It was then followed by an invigorating Zumba session, led by a renowned Zumba instructor from the city. Subsequently, attendees participated in a series of traditional Filipino games, or “Larong Pinoy,” commemorating cultural roots and heritage.
The highlight of the event was the Alumni Got Talent which was participated by numerous alumni who showed their creativity through interpretative dance, and singing entries. The event was also graced by prominent judges in the city known in the field of theater and arts. The homecoming also provided participants with the chance to win enticing raffle prizes, adding to the excitement.
TESDA IX Regional Director, Tarhata S. Mapandi, CESO III, also delivered an inspiring message to the alumni, highlighting the significance of reconnecting and re-establishing ties. She underscored the institution’s openness to hearing the insights and suggestions of the alumni community on how the agency can further support the association. RD Mapandi concluded her address by urging the alumni to partner with TESDA in championing inclusive TVET in the region.
