The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority IX (TESDA) through the Regional Training Center – Zamboanga Peninsula, celebrated the National Tech-Voc Day and its 29th anniversary with a week-long event from August 21 – 25, 2023.

The celebration kicked off with the ceremonial hanging of streamers followed by a parade with both employees and students participating. This year was especially significant as it was participated by the newly established TESDA IX RTC Alumni Association. During the opening program, the series of activities planned for the week-long celebration were announced.

Highlighting TESDA’s commitment to community engagement, RTC organized various skills demonstration in food processing and pastry making in different barangays, bringing its livelihood programs closer to the people.

Several sports activities were also lined up, such as basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and e-sports, all of which saw active participation from students. Additionally, students, alumni, and employees alike showcased their creativity and talent in singing and dancing contests.

TESDA IX, in collaboration with its field offices, hosted the “World Café of Opportunities,” a job fair aiming to offer employment opportunities for all. Various companies from the city participated, and the event attracted numerous job-seekers.

The series of events testified to the unwavering commitment of TESDA IX RTC, dedicated not only to empowering individuals through skills development and training but also to fostering communities with a shared vision and camaraderie.
