The Regional Training Center – Zamboanga Peninsula, one of the training arms of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in Region 9, kicked off the observance of this year’s National Women’s Month Celebration in a simple ceremony at its Conference Hall on March 1, 2022.
With this year’s sub theme, “Agenda ng Kababaihan, Tungo sa Kaunlaran,“ RTC-ZamPen has lined-up series of livelihood skills demonstrations (pandesal making, tocino making, empanada making, siopao and siomai making) for the different women’s organizations in Zamboanga City for the whole month of March.
The suggested activities of the Philippine Council of Women (PCW) to drum up awareness of the celebration will also be adopted such as the use of the All-Women Cast Lupang Hinirang Video during Flag Ceremony, display of campaign banner in front of the office, distribution of information materials, purple Tuesdays, and online advocacy activities. The center will also hold Hugot Lines/Slogan-Making Contest for the employees.
This year culminates the 6-year theme “WE Make CHANGE Work for Women.” TESDA has been relentless in its pursuit of empowering women, encouraging them to enroll in non-traditional trades, and providing more scholarship programs to provide them more work and livelihood opportunities.
