Twenty-eight (28) Returning Filipinos from Sabah (REFs) attended the online training on various livelihood skills on June 25, 2021 at the DSWD Processing Center for Displaced Persons (PDCP) in Talon-Talon, Zamboanga City.

The TESDA IX Regional Training Center-Zamboanga Peninsula conducted the online training via zoom where the REFs learned how to make siopai, siomai, fish nuggets and tempura.  The choice of these food products stemmed from the income potential and relatively easy preparation.

These REFs are set to go home to their provinces and are housed temporarily at the PDCP while waiting for the assessment of their respective LGUs and scheduled trips. This online training was the first activity this year conducted for REFs by the DSWD-9 and TESDA 9.  More livelihood training programs are lined up as more REFs are scheduled to arrive in Zamboanga City.
